Migrant labor exploitation has been particularly widespread in the Gulf region. At Global Hiring Hub, the pre-screening and selection processes are conducted without the use of agents or sub-agents to ensure that applicants are not bound to any third parties. We believe that training and qualifications should be provided to candidates without them having to pay any additional, unrelated fees. Global Hiring Hub upholds these rights in accordance with the UN Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Their Families.

 

The primary objective of the Convention is to increase respect for immigrants' human rights. Migrants are not only workers; they are also humans. The Convention aims to guarantee equal treatment and working conditions for both natives and immigrants. It does not grant immigrants any additional privileges. The Convention is novel because it is predicated on the fundamental notion that all migrants should have access to a minimal level of protection. Even though it recognizes that legal migrants have the right to demand stronger rights than undocumented migrants, the Convention underlines that undocumented migrants must have their basic human rights safeguarded, just like everyone else.

 

The Convention advises taking action to stop clandestine migrations in the interim, particularly by combating false information that encourages people to travel irregularly and by implementing penalties against traffickers and employers of unauthorized migrants. Migrant workers and their families are protected by Article 7 of this Convention, regardless of "sex, race, color, language, religion or conviction, political or other opinions, national, ethnic or social origin, nationality, age, economic position, property, or marital status."
